Alpha Investment Advisors, LLC (AIA), a fee only registered investment advisor in El Dorado Hills, CA, was founded by Patrick Slater in 2005. With more than 20 years experience in research and portfolio management Patrick has developed a uniquely effective investment management process. This process takes the best concepts from both the passive and active investment approaches and combines them in a low cost discipline that strives for superior risk adjusted returns over time. This investment discipline was a featured article titled "Valuation-Based Indexing" in the January / February issue of the Investment Management Consultants Association's (IMCA) "Investments & Wealth Monitor" magazine.

AIA is registered with the State of California and intentionally does not have securities licenses. We don't need one because our compensation comes solely from investment management fees rather than commissions. Not having a securities license also allows us to select any custodian or investment we choose rather than having to work from an 'approved product' list. Our concept is to sit on the same side of the table as our clients and represent them to the financial markets without any inherent conflicts of interest. In charging a fee based on the value of your account, we have tried to align our interests with yours. If your account goes up in value, we make more. Likewise, if the account goes down in value, our compensation goes down and we feel the pain as well.
